The College begins lessons the moment each calendar year, early in October. Pupils are divided into sections of 12 learners each individual, and get two hours of classroom instruction and six hours of store instruction for each day, Monday through Friday 8am – 5pm.

The skills desired to build boats are the concentration of the 1st semester, which runs from early Oct to late December.

The instructors suppose that most, if not all, college students have no woodworking capabilities and continue from that assumption. The abilities taught in the 1st semester are those people vital to boatbuilding, and the program, for that cause, is extremely “arms-on”.

The to start with course taught is Simple Skills for Boatbuilders.
