Port Hadlock WA - Boat School - Lofting the Buzzards Bay-14

The Buzzards Bay-14 was created by L.Francis Herreshoff in 1945 as a follow-on to the Herreshoff 12 1/2 designed by his father, N.G. Herreshoff. www.herreshoff.org/hmm/index.html
These are stunning, traditional picket boats. We normally develop them with a fir or purpleheart stem and keel, mahogany transom (witnessed in this photo) and western crimson cedar planking. The boats are typically a two yr job for us.
The Northwest College of Wooden Boatbuilding is located in Port Hadlock WA and is a personal, accredited non-earnings vocational faculty.
Our mission is to instruct and preserve the great artwork of wood boatbuilding and common maritime crafts.
