FELICITY Ann is a compact sloop, just 19 feet lengthy on the waterline, and crafted in 1939 by the Mashford Brothers Shipyard in Cremyll, England. She was planked in larch above oak frames, and is one of four boats designed to the “Four Ton” class, all of which, it is considered, stay in existance.

She was designed well known by Englishwoman Ann Davison, who applied her to become the first female to sail by yourself throughout the Atlantic Ocean, a feat Ann memorialized in her guide “My Ship is So Small”. (Ann wrote five publications around her life time, all of them effectively worth reading).

Following Ann completed her epic voyage in the winter season of 1952-3, she sailed up the Atlantic coast by way of the Inter-Coastal Waterway and exhibited her boat at the 1953 New York Boat Clearly show. The tale and images of her voyage appeared in Existence journal at the time.

She inevitably sold FELICITY ANN, which handed as a result of a series of proprietors who did choose care of her, and the little sloop eventually ended up sheltered in Alaska. She was donated to the School in 2009.

Adhering to simple stabilization and preliminary restoration operate through the 2011 and 2012 Repair service and Restoration classes, the sloop was established aside to serve as the centerpiece for a local community-centered task made to introduce gals to simple shipwright abilities and superior college girls to standard woodworking competencies. The program is supported by the area 4H software.
