At the Navel Shipyard, on Mare Island in the old Jointers Shop stands the clamp rack. This remarkable clamping rack was in the again corner of the developing with heaps of pure mild. When Josh gave me a tour of the constructing he pointed out the patent on this machine was from the late 1800’s. It is used for clamping alongside one another a group of narrower boards that close up broader planks that can be put to quite a few uses.
