Ian is on his way to Warrington for an audit and is not particularly excited as he will be the one being audited this time around. He wakes up early, and Jools drops him off on the prom so he can take some snaps before picking up the car. He heads to the car hire place, where he was given a Toyota Yaris instead of the usual larger car he requests. He loads up the car, says goodbye to his cats and hits the road.
Ian does not have a sat nav, so he has to use his phone. Before heading to the hotel, he decides to visit the church where Mary Queen of Scots was imprisoned and executed. Although he has to turn up the music to drown out the sound of the struggling engine, he is making good time. He arrives at St Mary and All Saints and takes some photos. Next, he visits Titchmarsh, a very picturesque village, but unfortunately, the church is not of great interest. Ian is then on his way to Warrington, but due to a crash, he is delayed by an hour.
When Ian finally arrives at his friend’s house in Warrington, he talks with her for an hour before receiving a call from a guy he is supposed to be meeting later. Heavy snow is falling, and Ian decides to head to the golf resort where he will be staying. The final mile is particularly scary as the snow is slippery, and Ian’s fuel warning light comes on.
Ian finally arrives at the golf resort and settles in for the night.
