Ian is on the road again, heading to head office for an audit. Despite not wanting to go as he would be the one being audited, he sets off on a cold but bright day. Jools drops him off on the promenade so he can take some snaps before picking up the car, which unfortunately is smaller than he was hoping for. He programs his phone for directions and heads to Warrington to visit a former colleague before continuing on to Fotheringhay Castle, where Mary Queen of Scots was imprisoned and executed. Ian takes shots of the beautiful St Mary and All Saints church, the parish church of the House of York. He then drives through Oundle and Titchmarsh before making his way to Warrington.
After a delay due to a crash on the M6, Ian finally arrives in Warrington to visit his friend, Teresa. She lives on the other side of town, so Ian has to press on further north before finally reaching her home. They chat for a while, but then Ian gets a call from someone he is supposed to be meeting, informing him that heavy snow is falling, and he should get there sooner rather than later. So Ian says his goodbyes and sets off for the golf resort where he will be staying, 16 miles away.
The snowfall makes the final six miles of Ian’s journey very difficult, and he even ignores the warning light to get to the hotel safe and sound. Finally, he arrives at the gatehouse marking the entrance to the golf club and parks in the first space he sees.
