“Northamptonshire’s St. Mary the Virgin Church in Titchmarsh”

St Mary the Virgin, Titchmarsh, Northamptonshire

Ian is traveling to Warrington for an audit and is not looking forward to being audited instead of auditing. He wakes up early and packs his bags for the trip. Jools drops him off on the promenade to take a walk and snap some photos. It is cold, but the promise of snow makes the day more interesting. He gets a Toyota Yaris for the trip, and after breakfast, he says goodbye to his cats and drives off.

He visits a former colleague in St Helens and programs the phone to use as a GPS to navigate. He decides to make a stop at St Mary and All Saints church in Northamptonshire, which is where Mary Queen of Scots was executed. He takes photos of the 15th century church and the mausoleums of the House of York.

On the way to Warrington, he also stops at Titchmarsh village to see the church and the half-timbered houses along the high street. He takes photos of the wall paintings and gets back on the road. As he drives to Warrington, snow starts to fall, and he experiences delays due to a crash on the M6.

He finally arrives at a friend’s place in Warrington, talks for an hour, and receives a call urging him to leave sooner than later because more heavy snow is expected. He leaves for the resort, 16 miles away. The main roads are covered in snow, and Ian ignores the warning light of low fuel to get to the resort safely. The last mile is challenging but he manages to park safely in the first available space.
