Northamptonshire’s St Mary the Virgin Church in Titchmarsh

St Mary the Virgin, Titchmarsh, Northamptonshire

The writer, Ian, is on a business trip to Warrington, UK for an audit. He wakes up early and goes for a walk on the promenade to capture some photos before his wife, Jools, drops him off at the rental car office. He is given a Toyota Yaris without sat-nav and struggles to climb the hills of Jubilee Way. He charges his phone and listens to music while driving towards Warrington. Ian decides to make a detour to visit St Mary and All Saints Church, which was once the parish church of the House of York and Richard III. He takes photos of the church and its two mausoleums then heads back to the A14. Along the way, he sees a tower and decides to visit Titchmarsh village’s church which is lined with half-timbered houses. Not much is of interest inside and Ian heads back to his car after taking some photos. He continues on his journey to Warrington, driving through Coventry before being delayed for an hour due to a crash. Ian finally reaches the home of his former colleague, Teresa, and spends an hour with her before heading to a resort for the night. The final six miles are scary as heavy snow falls and Ian’s rental car is only an inch deep, but he manages to arrive safely.
