The author, Ian, is on a work trip back to the north west in Warrington, UK, to be audited. Jools drops him off so he can take a walk, but it’s too cold to watch the sunrise fully. He picks up his rental car and drives to a former colleague’s house before setting out on a detour to visit the church where Mary Queen of Scots was imprisoned and executed. He takes some photos before setting off once again. Passing through the village of Titchmarsh, Ian stops to take a few shots of the church there before hitting the road again. He encounters snowfall on the way, arriving late due to a car crash. After visiting a friend in Warrington, he drives to a golf resort in the snow, glad to arrive safely.
