Northamptonshire’s St Mary the Virgin Church in Titchmarsh

St Mary the Virgin, Titchmarsh, Northamptonshire

Ian is embarking on a business trip to the UK for an audit at his head office in Warrington. He wakes up early, packs his bags, and sets off to the car hire, where he is met by a man who lets him inside while he prepares the cars for rental. Ian picks up a Toyota Yaris which proves to be a bit of a struggle on hills. On his way to Warrington, Ian decides to take a detour to visit the Church of St. Mary and All Saints, which was the parish church of the House of York, several Kings included Richard III. Ian is surprised to find that the church is mostly as it was originally built in the 15th century. His visit to the church is quick, but he takes a few shots and admires the beautiful Perpendicular architecture.

Next stop, Titchmarsh, a village along the way to Warrington. The village boasts picturesque views lined with half-timbered, thatched houses. Ian explores the Ha-Ha, a half-ditch where water passes through, and visits the church of Titchmarsh, which is disappointingly unremarkable. After taking some photos, he continues on his way to Warrington, where he has arranged to stay with a friend for the evening.

It starts snowing as Ian continues his journey towards Warrington, and although he experiences some minor delays, he eventually arrives safely. After an hour spent catching up with his friend and her two pets, Ian receives a call from a colleague warning him about heavy snowfall and urging him to travel to the resort for his stay sooner rather than later. Ian programs his route to the resort, which is 16 miles away, and sets off in heavy snowfall. The first part of the journey is straightforward, but the final six miles are treacherous, and Ian’s car is nearly out of fuel. Ian eventually makes it to the resort after a harrowing journey and checks in for the night.
