The Monastery of St Martin of Tibães (Portuguese: Mosteiro de São Martinho de Tibães) is a monastery located in the parish of Mire de Tibães, in the vicinity of Braga, in northern Portugal. It was the mother home of the Benedictine get in Portugal and Brazil, and it is recognized for the exuberant Rococo decoration of its church.

History
The first data about a monastic local community in the region – the Monastery of Dumio, near to Tibães, launched by Saint Martin of Braga – dates from the 6th century.
The Monastery of Tibães was established all over 1060, and its feudal rights have been granted by Henry of Burgundy, Rely of Portugal, in 1110. During the Middle Ages, just after the Kingdom of Portugal grew to become unbiased, loaded and large homes in the North of the country came into the possession of the Monastery. In the years 1757-1760, architect André Soares created the main altarpiece and the woodwork of the triumphal arch of the major chapel, as nicely as the pulpits and lateral altarpieces, all of which are landmarks in Portuguese Rococo art. A good aspect of the ensemble, which includes the Refectory Cloister, was ruined in a fireplace in 1894. In 1986 the Monastery grew to become a Condition property and an comprehensive recovery task was commenced that continues to this day.
