*• My marquetry guidelines:*
There’s almost nothing to it,… truly just get a great and strait ruler, a sharp normal utility-knife, scotch-tape , patience and a tiny challenging sandingblock with 150 and 180 grain and begin reducing, thats how I acquired it…..
Guidelines:
– I commonly use MDF as a perform-floor due to the fact it has no grain and therefore the knife is not going to consider to ‘wonder off’.
– Never attempt to reduce the veneer in one particular go, usually make several lite strokes based on the wooden.
, say 3 to 5 for maple, 3 to 4 for mahogany just never pressure the blade by means of, it will “lookup” and comply with the grain of the wooden and you would by no means get a strait slice.(I use ,6 mm / ,024″ veneer.)
– Often put the ruler on the element you might be gonna use not on the slice-away, that way you can expect to mechanically reduce at a slide angle and get best (!!!) seamless fitting pieces.
– You should not use a pencil or pen, just mark things evenly with you knife.
(I am 21 so I have no challenge observing the markings with a knife, but if you do just try to preserve the strains as this as probable.)
– I use scotch-tape to continue to keep the items collectively. Just after glue-up the tape is scraped of incredibly thoroughly.
