We are creating a general public makerspace in Tam Significant School’s state-of-the-artwork woodshop, to make issues with each other and expand a local community of makers, learners and academics in South Marin.
This 7 days, I figured out from Geo how to make a ‘mortise and tenon’ joint for the cellular cart I am making in his ‘You Can Develop It’ workshop. We will use this cart to showcase the City of the Long term that our center university pupils are setting up with each other in our ‘maker art’ classes.
Other workshop participants are earning very good development as properly, this kind of as the stunning wooden table shown below. Geo also showed off some of the 3D objects his superior university college students are earning for ‘Maker Field’, their animatronic city run with Arduino.
These projects are excellent examples of what we could assistance with far more maker programs for grownups and teenagers in our new makerspace at Tam Higher. Additional on this later on.
