We are developing a general public makerspace in Tam Substantial School’s point out-of-the-art woodshop, to create neat artwork and technological know-how — and increase a community of makers, pupils and teachers.
Below are some of the artworks we are making in Geo Monley’s woodworking workshop, called ‘You Construct It’. With his aid, I am also making a ‘maker artwork cart’ to showcase the function of our college students — and Howard Rheingold is earning a triangular table for our Pataphysical Studios.
All through open shop hrs, I made use of the laser cutter to make much more characters for our Town of the Potential training course. In this ‘maker art’ course, reduced and middle college students will construct a futuristic household with a cardboard ‘wonderbox’ and animated people these as these. They will provide them to daily life with lights, appears and movement, employing these wood figures as a framework to build on.
Geo showed off ‘Maker Field’, the animatronic metropolis he is setting up with his substantial college college students. Here’s their work in progress, which now attributes quite a few tall structures and multiple amounts, run with Arduino.
