We are creating a general public makerspace in Tam Superior School’s condition-of-the-artwork woodshop, to make items alongside one another and mature a local community of makers, students and instructors in South Marin.
This week, I learned from Geo how to make a ‘mortise and tenon’ joint for the cellular cart I am setting up in his ‘You Can Establish It’ workshop. We will use this cart to showcase the City of the Potential that our center university college students are building jointly in our ‘maker art’ courses.
Other workshop participants are producing good development as properly, these as the gorgeous wood table revealed here. Geo also showed off some of the 3D objects his higher college pupils are building for ‘Maker Field’, their animatronic town powered with Arduino.
These jobs are good examples of what we could support with extra maker courses for grownups and teenagers in our new makerspace at Tam High. More on this afterwards.
