Maker Art at Tam High

We are creating a community makerspace in Tam High School’s point out-of-the-art woodshop, to make factors alongside one another and increase a local community of makers, college students and instructors in South Marin.

This week, I figured out from Geo how to make a ‘mortise and tenon’ joint for the cell cart I am making in his ‘You Can Develop It’ workshop. We will use this cart to showcase the Metropolis of the Long run that our center faculty learners are creating together in our ‘maker art’ classes.

Other workshop individuals are making excellent development as effectively, these types of as the attractive wooden table revealed listed here. Geo also confirmed off some of the 3D objects his significant school learners are building for ‘Maker Field’, their animatronic city driven with Arduino.

These tasks are fantastic illustrations of what we could aid with additional maker systems for adults and teens in our new makerspace at Tam Large. More on this later.
