This is my newest wooden working undertaking. I contact it a mailbox safe and sound considering the fact that I sense placing a coin slot in the major and calling it a financial institution would damage the search of the wooden. It is built of purple oak (3/4″ I assume). It was sanded down to a closing grit of 600, burnished and then concluded in tung oil (the base seems to be as excellent as the relaxation of it if you are wondering). The mailbox go over is from the town of Bushton KS and holds a specific significance to me in that it was exactly where the mail was sent to my grand parent’s employ shop. In other words and phrases if you despatched in a check for company on your tractor or blend… that my grandfather had performed. it was most possible picked up by my grandmother from this very mailbox. The mailbox front alone is stamped 1957 and came with a card indicating its blend and reading, “National Lock Box Enterprise, Inc.”
