In February 2011, the snare machine was almost completed, with the remaining work consisting of wiring it up and building the beaters for super-fast rolls. The machine was made from mahogany, African Padauk, and a small amount of ebony for holding the sticks. The design was influenced by the work of James Krenov and George Nakashima, although it did not fully emulate their styles.
