The Chapel of Thomas Male

Located in Fantastic Maze Pond, Southwark, SE1 1YZ the Chapel of Thomas Guy was developed in 1774-77 to the styles of Richard Jupp as an supplemental wing. The initial building launched in 1721. There is a statue of Thomas Guy, made in 1779 by John Bacon. The three stained glass home windows commemorate William Hunt, Fellas Hospital’s 2nd most benefactor. There are a range of mural memorial panels of mosiac, these have been created by James Powell in 1904.
The inside is virtually square and has two galleries supported by painted blue columns. The sanctuary has a marble surround to the arch, by Louis Osman in 1956. The complete inside has a distinct Georgian model, which is contrasted by the dark Edwardian woodwork.
All in all, beautiful chapel to stop by.
