The Chapel of Thomas Man
Located in Good Maze Pond, Southwark, SE1 1YZ the Chapel of Thomas Guy was developed in 1774-77 to the models of Richard Jupp as an more wing. The unique creating started in 1721. There is a statue of Thomas Person, created in 1779 by John Bacon. The 3 stained glass home windows commemorate William Hunt, Fellas Hospital’s 2nd most benefactor. There are a selection of mural memorial panels of mosiac, these were designed by James Powell in 1904.
The interior is almost square and has two galleries supported by painted blue columns. The sanctuary has a marble surround to the arch, by Louis Osman in 1956. The full interior has a distinct Georgian style, which is contrasted by the darkish Edwardian woodwork.
All in all, wonderful chapel to stop by.
