The Chapel of Thomas Person
Situated in Fantastic Maze Pond, Southwark, SE1 1YZ the Chapel of Thomas Male was created in 1774-77 to the styles of Richard Jupp as an additional wing. The unique setting up launched in 1721. There is a statue of Thomas Man, produced in 1779 by John Bacon. The 3 stained glass windows commemorate William Hunt, Men Hospital’s next most benefactor. There are a amount of mural memorial panels of mosiac, these ended up built by James Powell in 1904.
The interior is almost sq. and has two galleries supported by painted blue columns. The sanctuary has a marble surround to the arch, by Louis Osman in 1956. The full interior has a unique Georgian type, which is contrasted by the dim Edwardian woodwork.
All in all, lovely chapel to pay a visit to.
