Cairo’s Islamic Museum is just one of the greatest devoted to the art of Islam and its loaded collection consists of a great deal to take pleasure in in all mediums.
Especially high-quality are the ceramics, with tilework and glazed pottery adorned with exquisitely intricate patterns, whilst a good proportion incorporates elements of figurative imagery, normally forbidden below Islam and reflecting a much more calm angle to used artwork and the enjoyment it provides.
The museum is a delight and the wonderfully displayed selection will richly reward a visit.
