The Crossroads task is a an initiative to construct an ecologically sustainable neighborhood, with exceptional services for medieval pursuits.
Our objective is to build a medieval village on our house at Yass, New South Wales, Australia. We would like to foster common crafts and competencies, establish partnerships with a variety of nationwide organisations for pre-industrial crafts, for occasion in woodwork, pottery, blacksmithing and embroidery.
The bodily website of Crossroads is 453 acres of land, and the system is to establish the website to have Customer cabins to accommodate 60 persons, a kitchen area/eating corridor, and involved features, a duplicate of the tiny French medieval castle, Chalencon, and its associated village, a residential subdivision with a medieval concept and a centre for Heritage Crafts.
The website is by now being employed routinely by medievalists for fairs, festivals and functions this sort of as archery as effectively as weddings and functions, and is readily available for use by the community.
