These are the two varieties of modest clamps I like most. Both have strengths and weaknesses. The Jorgensen’s – at still left – have awesome flat edges, and stand up effortlessly, supporting smaller function very well. They’re lighter, but nevertheless powerful, and the sliding part slides a bit far more conveniently, but their handles are small, rickety, and hard to grip, with fastening rivets that often scrape up my hand ,smaller sized threads that can consider 10-15 twists (not full revolutions) to tighten thoroughly, and the pads depart dim, hideous, deep, oily marks in wooden that are tough to sand out.

The Bessey Tradesmen – at right – are much stockier, more robust, clamp with additional electrical power (600lbs, IIRC), have very potent, quick to grab handles that never scrape me up, and tighten up in 2 or 3 twists (not complete revolutions), but won’t be able to stand up on their have, and can be very significant for lighter functions, as with these boxes, which I would take into account at the lower limit for Tradesman get the job done.

In brief, irrespective of the dim oily marks, and uncomfortable grips, I kind of choose a stack of Jorgensens for very little box perform like this, but absolutely want the Bessey’s for greater assignments that stand up on their personal, supporting the clamps with their individual fat.
