Hanging Rack for Towels

Towel Hanger

Woodworking project #4 involved the creation of a hanger made from durian wood and 5/8″ T6061 aluminum tubing. The finished piece was coated in acrylic fancy sealer and NC lacquer for a sleek and professional look.

Durian wood is a popular choice among woodworkers due to its durability and resistance to decay. It is also known for its unique color patterns and grain, making it a visually appealing option for furniture and decor pieces.

For this project, the durian wood was cut and sanded into the desired shape for the hanger. The 5/8″ T6061 aluminum tubing was repurposed from previous work on Yagi antennas and cut to size to fit the design of the hanger.

Once the pieces were cut and fitted together, the hanger was finished with a combination of acrylic fancy sealer and NC lacquer. The acrylic sealer provides a protective layer against scratches and damages, while the NC lacquer adds a glossy finish.

The end result is a durable and visually appealing hanger that can be used for a variety of purposes, such as hanging coats, bags, or hats. The use of repurposed aluminum tubing adds an eco-friendly touch to the project, while the combination of durian wood and acrylic sealer and NC lacquer creates a finished product that is both functional and aesthetically pleasing.
