The Church of St Winwaloe is located in Gunwalloe, Cornwall, UK. The church dates primarily from the 15th century but incorporates some parts from the 13th century, and it is believed that one of its fonts is Norman. It features a unique Three Hall design, a detached Bell Tower, and a strange statue outside the entrance.
The Churches Project was launched in April 2015 by a photographer who wanted to take more black and white photographs of Cornwall’s granite landscapes. After visiting Zennor Church, the photographer realized that Cornwall’s churches and churchyards held more photographic interest. The gritty look of the exterior is ideal for black and white photography, while the interior features amazing colors in the woodwork, stonework, kneeler cushions, and stained glass windows.
The Cornish Historic Churches Trust is a charitable organization that works to preserve the beautiful churches of Cornwall for future generations. Their website provides information on how to support their work. The photographer’s equipment and photography are sponsored by inlinefilters.co.uk, the leading filter specialists in the UK.
The photographer’s portfolio website and blog can be found at piktour.uk, where visitors can view a range of his photographs. All photographs are taken as a hobby and can be shared with those who enjoy them or have a use for them. However, if the photographs are used, accreditation would be appreciated, and if they are used for financial gain, permission must be obtained from the photographer.
