St Mary’s at Leebotwood is a modest church, a shorter single chamber developing without having structural division amongst nave and chancel (like a lot of previous churches in this always pretty rural region). The west tower is afterwards and curiously rectangular in approach.

Inside of the dominant impression is of being surrounded by woodwork, with 50 percent the internal peak accounted for by the steeply pitched roof and box pews down below. Outside of the partitions of the chancel are lined with many memorial tablets, some of quite good high quality, on the other hand the earliest feature of note is the significant fragment of a 14th century wall portray on the north aspect of the nave.

St Mary’s is a compact constructing but an appealing one particular, and fortunately open and welcoming to website visitors.
