The Rangeen Mahal was constructed during the reign of Ali Barid, the first king of the Baridshahi dynasty, between 1524 and 1580. Ali was a great patron of Persian poetry and art, and it was his encouragement that led to the construction of the palace.

The Baridshahis struggled to maintain the Bidar Fort, which had been built by the Bahmani rulers, and therefore took to living in the more secure Rangeen Mahal. The palace is known for its intricate woodwork, which combines Persian and Indian styles with great artistry. The palace also contains art works made of sea shells, and stucco art can be seen on the walls. Additionally, there are several verses carved into the palace that express love and admiration for the king and the throne.

Located in the Indian state of Karnataka, Bidar Fort is a historical monument that was originally built in the 15th century by the Bahmani Sultanate. It was later taken over by the Baridshahis, who made significant improvements to the fort and constructed several buildings within its walls, including the Rangeen Mahal.

Bidar Fort is surrounded by a moat and has multiple layers of walls, which served to protect it from invaders. The fort contains several structures, including mosques, tombs, a madrasa, and a darbar hall. The darbar hall was used for royal ceremonies and is decorated with intricate carvings and paintings.

The fort also contains the Solah Khamba Mosque, which was built during the Bahmani period and features 16 pillars. Other notable structures within the fort include the Rangin Mahal, the Tarkash Mahal, the Gagan Mahal, and the Ali Barid Tombs.

The Rangin Mahal, or Rangeen Mahal, is known for its unique combination of Persian and Indian architectural styles. The palace is notable for its intricate woodwork, as well as its stucco art and verses carved into the walls. The palace also contains several works of art made from sea shells.

The Tarkash Mahal was built during the reign of Ali Barid and is known for its unique architecture, which combines elements of Hindu, Islamic, and Persian styles. The palace is decorated with intricate carvings and paintings and contains the famous painted ceiling of the Durbar Hall.

The Gagan Mahal, also known as the Palace of the Sky, was built by Ali Barid and served as the royal residence. The palace features a large archway and a balcony that overlooks the city.

The Ali Barid Tombs are located outside the fort and contain the tombs of the Baridshahi kings. The tombs are known for their unique architecture, which combines elements of Turkish, Arabic, and Persian styles.
