Yes, it really is sitting on prime of the clothing dryer. My basement workshop is also the laundry room.

The dovetails didn’t turn out as well as I hoped on some of the corners, but they’re going to do. Every single time I do dovetails, I appear to fail to remember a couple lessons from the past time I did them. Probably I just will need to get a bunch of scrap wood and do dovetail right after dovetail right until it results in being second mother nature. The 3rd and 4th corners were being considerably much better than the first two.

I am working with cherry for this task. That looks unnecessarily extravagant maybe, but portion of my objective with this undertaking is only to get some knowledge with a further type of wood. Regrettably, the widest board I have was about 11 1/8″, which is about 3/4″ shorter than the approach referred to as for. So the leading compartment will be a small shorter, and could not fit a plane standing on its sole. I hope this will not restrict the usefulness of the chest much too significantly…

The opening on the base will have two drawers divided by a divider that will be held in area with a sliding dovetail.
