We are generating an Art Float for Social Change at Tam Makers, to encourage extra folks to participate in democracy. Our parade float will get to out to youth and men and women of coloration through art, new music and technology. We will present this artwork present on Earth Day, Memorial Working day and Fourth of July parades in Marin — and all through California this drop, to persuade people to vote in the subsequent election.
Our special art float celebrates mother earth with a carousel of waving hands, pulled by a big feathered serpent. Performers will notify stories of hope on a phase embellished with scenes of a greater planet. Massive indications will invite folks to talk up and vote! You can pitch strategies for social modify on the podium, or have them scroll on the information ticker.
This community art undertaking is created by a crew of learners and makers, led by Fabrice Florin and Geo Monley, co-founders of Tam Makers in Mill Valley. We are grateful to Tam Large College for hosting this job and to all our superb volunteers and artwork, civic and instructional partners, for helping make this float and current it to a varied local community.
We are constructing this job in March and April 2018, on Thursday evenings from 4 to 9pm — or Saturday mornings from 10am to 1pm. If you would like to volunteer, please email us at float@tammakers.org.
