We are producing an Art Float for Social Transform at Tam Makers, to encourage additional people today to take part in democracy. Our parade float will attain out to youth and individuals of coloration via art, new music and technologies. We will current this art display on Earth Working day, Memorial Working day and Fourth of July parades in Marin — and throughout California this drop, to stimulate individuals to vote in the next election.
Our distinctive art float celebrates mom earth with a carousel of waving palms, pulled by a big feathered serpent. Performers will notify tales of hope on a phase embellished with scenes of a much better globe. Big signs will invite folks to converse up and vote! You can pitch thoughts for social alter on the podium, or have them scroll on the information ticker.
This community artwork project is produced by a group of learners and makers, led by Fabrice Florin and Geo Monley, co-founders of Tam Makers in Mill Valley. We are grateful to Tam Superior College for hosting this venture and to all our excellent volunteers and artwork, civic and instructional partners, for serving to create this float and present it to a assorted local community.
