We are developing an Art Float for Social Alter at Tam Makers, to inspire far more men and women to participate in democracy. Our parade float will attain out to youth and men and women of coloration via artwork, songs and engineering. We will existing this artwork present on Earth Day, Memorial Day and Fourth of July parades in Marin — and all over California this drop, to encourage folks to vote in the following election.
Our unique artwork float celebrates mom earth with a carousel of waving palms, pulled by a big feathered serpent. Performers will notify tales of hope on a stage decorated with scenes of a better world. Significant signs will invite people today to converse up and vote! You can pitch ideas for social improve on the podium, or have them scroll on the information ticker.
This local community artwork task is designed by a team of pupils and makers, led by Fabrice Florin and Geo Monley, co-founders of Tam Makers in Mill Valley. We are grateful to Tam Higher College for internet hosting this job and to all our fantastic volunteers and artwork, civic and educational associates, for supporting create this float and existing it to a diverse local community.
We are setting up this challenge in March and April 2018, on Thursday evenings from 4 to 9pm — or Saturday mornings from 10am to 1pm. If you would like to volunteer, make sure you e mail us at float@tammakers.org.
