Any one who has poked about my woodworking images for a even though is familiar with I like to laminate different types of wooden together to generate a exclusive pattern for most of the factors I make. The collection of woods I applied right here was a little something I put alongside one another for a specific job I designed my father a few several years ago (a bedside caddy for his glasses and keys). What you see here is the inverse of that caddy, repurposed for those people dark winter nights forward.
This candle holder is made of alternating sequences of walnut and maple, with a strip of mahogany in the vicinity of the center for colour. It’s going to hold a few typical candlesticks (tapers) and the base is lined with felt, so it will never scratch up anybody’s tabletop. The full piece has been sanded down smooth to accentuate the gracious curved top, and it can be been concluded with a number of coats of glossy clear enamel, to keep a carefree glow that’ll stand up to recurring use.
