woodworking frame and box joints”>
This sequence of photos demonstrates the sequence of operations involved in the earning of typical body and box joints. Protected here are the close lap joint, the cross halving joint, the mitre bridle joint, the finger or comb joint, the mortice and tenon joint and the dovetail joint.
All S3 Craft & Layout pupils operate on a box job so that they can establish some basic woodworking capabilities. This year S4 have all been inspired to work on body and carcase design techniques. This is largely owing to the big numbers remaining offered this session but also thanks to the actuality that we have acquire a great deal of significant excellent hardwoods at a deal rate. For these causes a much more prescriptive tactic has been taken than the last number of a long time. This should support make the huge selection of jobs a little bit much easier to control whilst also displaying the materials and pupils’ talent to very best impact.
I am going to try out and annotate these much better above the up coming week or so.
