This sequence of images demonstrates the sequence of operations associated in the building of popular body and box joints. Coated listed here are the stop lap joint, the cross halving joint, the mitre bridle joint, the finger or comb joint, the mortice and tenon joint and the dovetail joint.

All S3 Craft & Structure pupils operate on a box task so that they can create some basic woodworking capabilities. This year S4 have all been inspired to perform on body and carcase construction approaches. This is largely due to the large numbers being introduced this session but also due to the simple fact that we have receive a whole lot of substantial high quality hardwoods at a bargain price tag. For these causes a additional prescriptive method has been taken than the final couple of years. This should assist make the massive range of tasks a little bit less difficult to handle even though also exhibiting the materials and pupils’ ability to best influence.

I will consider and annotate these greater about the next 7 days or so.
