The author of this content discusses their progression in building a Lego castle. They express a struggle they had with the turrets, specifically the front right one. They tried different heights and flaring out to no avail. Eventually, they made the entire round part thicker, which solved the issue but created more work for the other turrets.
With finals now complete, the author has more time to focus on Lego building and woodworking. They mention a potential project of creating sorting trays for their Lego room. The trays would have multiple long troughs with little dados for dividers, which would sort pieces by piece instead of color. They express reluctance as sorting by color has taken about 6 years and they aren’t finished yet. However, it is difficult to find specific pieces in a box of 10k+ bricks.
Before starting the sorting tray project, the author needs to clear out some space in their shop by getting rid of scrap wood. They have a couple of projects in mind for the scrap wood and plan to build some shop-updates as well. With the fall semester not starting until late August, they have some time to work on these projects.
