Merville is a helpful hamlet at the northern stop of the Comox Valley, It was named immediately after the area in France where by Canadians set up their preliminary field headquarters in the course of Environment War I. Merville B.C.’s to start with inhabitants were being a group of soldiers and their families resettled by the governing administration quickly adhering to that war. It is located between the Town of Courtenay, Mount Washington, Dove Creek, and Black Creek close to the east coast of Vancouver Island. The borders are nebulous and frequently hotly debated by people, but obviously involve Merville Road, Merville Basic Store, and Merville Community Corridor, probably at the northern conclusion. The agricultural neighborhood has outlasted and may well have supplanted each the more mature logging and milling group referred to as the Headquarters townsite (together the Tsolum River at the stop of Headquarters Road), and the Grantham local community around Tsolum Elementary University.

The Merville Basic Keep / Put up Place of work is a staple in this community – it has been serving the island Hwy considering the fact that the 1920’s.
