This is the flume or millrace that carries the drinking water to the wheel which provides electrical power for it really is functions. This mill is an “Overshot” design. Which means that the h2o is produced more than the wheel into the paddles. The drive of the slipping h2o together with it’s bodyweight lead to the wheel to switch.

Aderholdt Mill in Jacksonville is a 3-tale brick constructing situated on Tallaseehatchee Creek. Commencing operation in 1836, it was the first grist mill in Calhoun County and processed corn, wheat and cotton for community farmers. In addition to grinding, the mill functioned as a woodworking shop. Aderholdt Mill was included to the National Historic Sign up on December 29, 1988.
