“Renovation of the GCR Bridge and RHTT at Worksop Station – 5676”

The Refurbishment of the old GCR bridge & RHTT at Worksop Station - 5676

At Worksop station, the sun was causing issues with heavy shadowing from the buildings and washing out the sky to the west. The Rail Head Treatment Train (RHTT) was preparing to depart at 10:57, having arrived at 10:48. The station bridge had recently been refurbished, with the old GCR lattice bridge in need of maintenance. A temporary bridge had been installed, fitting into the space provided. The station building was also in need of maintenance, with bare wood showing in the roof and valancing. Class 20 locomotives, 20302 and 20312, were waiting on the down platform for the return journey to Sheffield on the 3S13 working, followed by the 3S14 to Hull and then the 3S15 to York Thrall Europa in the dark.
