The author recounts their experience with their first table saw, a very old General 250 purchased for $125. Unfortunately, the author’s first interaction with the saw ended in injury when a quarter inch of their index finger was cut off. Despite this, the author acknowledges that the saw was worth the cost due to the added bonus of over $2000 worth of exotic woods thrown in by the seller. These woods were then used for projects for the next 15 years.
