Fostering Youth Development through Skill Building

Building skills in the lives of our youth

CBMM’s Rising Tide boatshop program is a collaboration with the YMCA of the Chesapeake and the Academy Art Museum of Easton to offer Talbot County 6th graders a six-week after-school boatbuilding session. The program is funded through philanthropic support and provides a welcoming environment for students to learn basic boatbuilding skills. The goal is to empower students and facilitate mentorships with shipwright educators that will provide guidance and support during this crucial year in their development. The sessions include learning basic woodworking skills and safety procedures, with several take-home projects for participants.
