A Modernized Power Distribution Control Unit

New Electrical Panel

The author decided to give their kitchen a facelift after their dishwasher detergent cup broke and they realized their dishwasher was over 30 years old. They hired KitchenSaver to replace the cabinet doors, countertop, and sink, and also hired a contractor to strip and repaint the woodwork and walls. The author, a retired architect, chose an Arts and Crafts style for the cabinet and drawer fronts and chose bronze/copper pulls in the same style. They also purchased new light fixtures for the kitchen and dining room, as well as installing dimmable LED lights below the cabinets and above the sink. They added a recycling/trash cabinet and pantry cabinet to fill in dead space, necessitating electrical work which required them to bring their electrical circuit breaker panel up to current codes. They also replaced the old light switch and added window treatments. The contractor accidentally got paint stripper on the existing oven exhaust hood, so the author replaced it with a new black hood to match the oven.
