The author, Ian, is traveling to head office in Warrington for an audit, but before he arrives, he takes a detour to visit the church where Mary Queen of Scots was imprisoned and executed. After taking some pictures, he sets off again and comes across another church in Titchmarsh, which he also explores. He eventually reaches Warrington and has dinner with a friend before heading to a nearby golf resort for the night. The journey is marked by heavy snow and traffic delays.
