Each calendar year, 1,500 young children participate in our Alternate Routes program—a cell art studio aboard renovated transit buses in which youngsters learn about artwork, layout, and fabrication using only hand equipment, uncooked components, and their imagination. In excess of 10,000 young ones age 5-11 have been on the bus considering the fact that 1997, 50 percent of which are at-chance youth who participated at no charge thanks to grants and non-public donations.
