We are creating an Artwork Float for Social Change at Tam Makers, to inspire much more people to take part in democracy. Our parade float will arrive at out to youth and men and women of shade by art, new music and technological innovation. We will present this artwork present on Earth Working day, Memorial Day and Fourth of July parades in Marin — and in the course of California this slide, to inspire people to vote in the future election.
Our distinctive artwork float celebrates mom earth with a carousel of waving fingers, pulled by a huge feathered serpent. Performers will explain to stories of hope on a phase adorned with scenes of a superior environment. Substantial indications will invite people today to discuss up and vote! You can pitch suggestions for social improve on the podium, or have them scroll on the news ticker.
This local community art venture is designed by a crew of pupils and makers, led by Fabrice Florin and Geo Monley, co-founders of Tam Makers in Mill Valley. We are grateful to Tam Higher Faculty for hosting this job and to all our amazing volunteers and art, civic and academic partners, for assisting build this float and current it to a numerous local community.
We are setting up this job in March and April 2018, on Thursday evenings from 4 to 9pm — or Saturday mornings from 10am to 1pm. If you would like to volunteer, you should email us at float@tammakers.org.
