We are generating an Artwork Float for Social Modify at Tam Makers, to inspire much more persons to take part in democracy. Our parade float will achieve out to youth and men and women of colour as a result of art, music and engineering. We will existing this artwork show on Earth Day, Memorial Day and Fourth of July parades in Marin — and all through California this fall, to inspire men and women to vote in the next election.
Our distinctive art float celebrates mom earth with a carousel of waving arms, pulled by a big feathered serpent. Performers will notify tales of hope on a phase decorated with scenes of a much better earth. Substantial indicators will invite persons to talk up and vote! You can pitch concepts for social adjust on the podium, or have them scroll on the news ticker.
This community artwork undertaking is made by a workforce of students and makers, led by Fabrice Florin and Geo Monley, co-founders of Tam Makers in Mill Valley. We are grateful to Tam Higher Faculty for internet hosting this job and to all our great volunteers and artwork, civic and instructional partners, for encouraging build this float and current it to a numerous community.
We are setting up this venture in March and April 2018, on Thursday evenings from 4 to 9pm — or Saturday mornings from 10am to 1pm. If you would like to volunteer, you should e mail us at float@tammakers.org.
