We are making an Art Float for Social Change at Tam Makers, to encourage more men and women to take part in democracy. Our parade float will get to out to youth and folks of coloration through artwork, new music and technology. We will current this artwork exhibit on Earth Working day, Memorial Working day and Fourth of July parades in Marin — and during California this slide, to encourage men and women to vote in the subsequent election.
Our exclusive artwork float celebrates mom earth with a carousel of waving palms, pulled by a huge feathered serpent. Performers will notify tales of hope on a phase decorated with scenes of a superior earth. Huge signals will invite people to discuss up and vote! You can pitch strategies for social change on the podium, or have them scroll on the news ticker.
This local community artwork venture is established by a workforce of pupils and makers, led by Fabrice Florin and Geo Monley, co-founders of Tam Makers in Mill Valley. We are grateful to Tam Large College for hosting this venture and to all our amazing volunteers and artwork, civic and academic associates, for assisting develop this float and existing it to a varied neighborhood.
We are setting up this project in March and April 2018, on Thursday evenings from 4 to 9pm — or Saturday mornings from 10am to 1pm. If you would like to volunteer, you should electronic mail us at float@tammakers.org.
