Rising Tide After School Boatbuilding Program at CBMM

CBMM’s Growing Tide boatshop software is a pilot initiative in collaboration with the YMCA of the Chesapeake. In November, 2015, the plan started with a person of two, six-7 days after-school boatbuilding sessions provided to Talbot County 6th grade pupils.

The pilot classes have limited participation, with the YMCA of the Chesapeake organizing registration and transportation from its Easton area.

Funded as a result of philanthropic support, the method is created to instruct learners standard boatbuilding expertise in a welcoming, peaceful ecosystem. The aim of the method is to empower students to build a perception of self-confidence and pride, and aid mentorships with shipwright educators that will offer direction and assistance all through this very important 12 months in their progress.

The sessions include studying fundamental woodworking skills and security treatments, with quite a few take-residence jobs for members.
