The Monastery of St Martin of Tibães (Portuguese: Mosteiro de São Martinho de Tibães) is a monastery situated in the parish of Mire de Tibães, in the vicinity of Braga, in northern Portugal. It was the mother home of the Benedictine buy in Portugal and Brazil, and it is recognized for the exuberant Rococo decoration of its church.

The very first details about a monastic community in the area – the Monastery of Dumio, close to Tibães, started by Saint Martin of Braga – dates from the 6th century.
The Monastery of Tibães was established about 1060, and its feudal legal rights have been granted by Henry of Burgundy, Rely of Portugal, in 1110. During the Middle Ages, after the Kingdom of Portugal became unbiased, wealthy and broad properties in the North of the nation arrived into the possession of the Monastery. By the beginning of the 18th century the new wings of the Monastery have been finished, including the Gate House, the Dormitory, the Visitor Residence, the Chapter Dwelling and the Library.

In the course of the 17th and 18th centuries, the Monastery was a web-site of sizeable inventive exercise and experienced an monumental influence in the Baroque and Rococo art of Northern Portugal and overseas colonies. In the several years 1757-1760, architect André Soares created the primary altarpiece and the woodwork of the triumphal arch of the principal chapel, as well as the pulpits and lateral altarpieces, all of which are landmarks in Portuguese Rococo artwork.
