We are building an Artwork Float for Social Transform at Tam Makers, to encourage extra persons to participate in democracy. Our parade float will get to out to youth and persons of shade through artwork, music and technological innovation. We will current this art clearly show on Earth Day, Memorial Day and Fourth of July parades in Marin — and through California this drop, to motivate people to vote in the following election.
Our exceptional artwork float celebrates mother earth with a carousel of waving hands, pulled by a big feathered serpent. Performers will notify stories of hope on a phase adorned with scenes of a far better entire world. Significant signals will invite folks to speak up and vote! You can pitch thoughts for social transform on the podium, or have them scroll on the information ticker.
This group artwork venture is produced by a staff of students and makers, led by Fabrice Florin and Geo Monley, co-founders of Tam Makers in Mill Valley. We are grateful to Tam Superior College for hosting this venture and to all our superb volunteers and art, civic and instructional partners, for supporting produce this float and present it to a varied group.
We are creating this job in March and April 2018, on Thursday evenings from 4 to 9pm — or Saturday mornings from 10am to 1pm. If you would like to volunteer, you should e mail us at float@tammakers.org.
